The Camillus Les Stroud 9"" SK Arctic FS Survival Knife has a Titanium Bonded treated 440 Stainless Steel blade with a Rubber and Stainless Steel handle. 440 is a stainless steel with a terrific balance between hardness and corrosion resistance. 440 takes a nice edge and is fairly easy to resharpen, plus has good toughness and stain resistance. Included is a Ballistic Nylon Sheath, Ballistic nylon is a thick, tough, synthetic nylon fabric that protects against debris and other foreign materials. It is commonly used for making sheaths. Titanium Bonded is not painted or plated, but an application of a unique formulation of titanium and chromium nitride to the surface of cutting blades that actually penetrates and treats the metal to create a permanent bond.
